Start off your day the Paleo way

We’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and this also applies to the Paleo Diet. When you start off your day the Paleo way, you’ll be setting yourself up for a day with more energy and less grogginess.

If that doesn’t sound appealing, a carefully planned Paleo-friendly breakfast will keep you full until lunch without feeling any hunger pangs.

Some people will eat lunch or dinner leftovers for breakfast. While this is okay, it can get a little boring. If you want to get out of this rut, read on for some terrific paleo diet breakfast ideas!
Granola

Store-bought granola is certainly not Paleo-approved because it’s full of grains and other added ingredients that can get you in trouble. Make your own Paleo-friendly version with hemp hearts, coconut flakes, coconut oil, almond flour and a few spices.
Cereal

Substitute the sugar-laden cereals found at your supermarket with a homemade version. Pour some coconut milk over a mixture of nuts, seeds and berries. Easy and fast!
Eggs

Using eggs for breakfast seems so obvious but there are so many ways to use them in dishes without ever getting bored. Use them in an omelette, a frittata or a skillet. Poach them, boil them or scramble them. Add whatever you want for vegetables for a complete Paleo-friendly breakfast.
Muffins

Who would have thought that you could have a muffin on the Paleo Diet? Different flours such as almond or coconut help make the base for your Paleo-friendly muffin batter mix. Throw in some spices, berries and nuts and you’ve got yourself one heck of a tasty breakfast muffin!
Pancakes

If you crave pancakes but are eating paleo, hope is here! You can easily whip up your very own pancakes without falling off the Paleo Diet wagon. These can quickly be made by mixing up some coconut flour, whey protein and coconut milk. Serve with berries for a yummy meal!
Porridge

Mix up some ripe bananas, coconut milk, almond meal, flax meal and spices for a delicious Paleo-friendly porridge. The sweetness will vary depending how ripe the bananas are but you can drizzle a little honey on the porridge before serving.
Waffles

You don’t have to go without waffles while following the Paleo Diet. You just have to tweak the recipe by including ingredients such as coconut flour and applesauce to replace unauthorized ingredients.
Smoothies

Smoothies are perfect for those on the go. Throw some frozen berries in a blender along with some coconut milk and protein powder for that extra protein kick.

As you can see, there are many breakfast options out there – you’re not just limited to the classic eggs and bacon. There are tons of Paleo Diet breakfast recipes online and most of them use pretty basic ingredients that you can find at your local health food store. As a timesaver, double or triple the recipe (if the recipe allows) and freeze some portions. This will save you some time next time you’re rushed – simply heat up and enjoy!
